பின்பு அவன் அகசியாவைத் தேடினான்; சமாரியாவில் ஒளித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அவனை அவர்கள் பிடித்து, யெகூவினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு: இவன் தன் முழுஇருதயத்தோடும் கர்த்தரைத் தேடின யோசபாத்தின் குமாரன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனை அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்படியே அரசாளுகிறதற்குப் பெலன்கொள்ளத்தக்க ஒருவரும் அகசியாவின் குடும்பத்தில் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று.

பின்பு, அவன் அகசியாவைத் தேடினான்; சமாரியாவில் ஒளிந்துகொண்டிருந்த அவனை அவர்கள் பிடித்து, யெகூவினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு: இவன் தன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் கர்த்தரைத் தேடின யோசபாத்தின் மகன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனை அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; அப்படியே அரசாளுகிறதற்குத் திறமையுள்ள ஒருவரும் அகசியாவின் குடும்பத்திற்கு இல்லாமற்போனது.

பிறகு யெகூ, அகசியாவைத் தேடினான். அவன் சமாரியா நகரத்திலே ஒளிந்துகொள்ள முயன்றபோது யெகூவின் ஆட்கள் பிடித்துக்கொண்டனர். அவனை அவர்கள் யெகூவிடம் கொண்டுவந்தனர். அவர்கள் அவனைக் கொன்று அடக்கம் செய்தனர். அவர்கள், “அகசியா யோசபாத்தின் சந்ததியான். யோசபாத் தன் முழுமனதோடு கர்த்தரைப் பின்பற்றினான்” என்று கூறினர். அகசியாவின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு யூதா முழுவதையும் ஆள்வதற்குரிய பெலன் இல்லாமல்போனது.

பின்னர், அவன் அகசியாவைத் தேடினான். சமாரியாவில் ஒளிந்திருக்கும்போது அகசியா பிடிப்பட்டான்; உடனே ஏகூவிடம் அவனை அழைத்து வர, ஏகூ அவனையும் கொன்றான். ‘இவன்ஆண்டவரை முழு இதயத்தோடு நாடிய யோசபாத்தின் மகன்’ என்பதனால் அவர்கள் அவனை அடக்கம் செய்தனர். இதனால் அரசுப் பொறுப்பை ஏற்க அவன் குடும்பத்தில் யாருமே இல்லை.
