ராஜாவாகிய உசியா தன் மரணநாள்மட்டும் குஷ்டரோகியாயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குப் புறம்பாக்கப்பட்டபடியினால், ஒரு தனித்த வீட்டிலே குஷ்டரோகியாய் வாசம்பண்ணினான்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோதாம் ராஜாவின் அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாயிருந்து, தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களை நியாயம்விசாரித்தான்.

ராஜாவாகிய உசியா தன் மரணநாள்வரை தொழுநோயாளியாயிருந்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் விலக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டு இருந்ததால், ஒரு தனித்த வீட்டிலே தொழுநோயாளியாக குடியிருந்தான்; அவன் மகனாகிய யோதாம், ராஜாவின் அரண்மனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாயிருந்து, தேசத்தின் மக்களை நியாயம் விசாரித்தான்.

உசியா எனும் அரசன் தொழு நோயாளியானான். அவனால் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குள் நுழைய முடியவில்லை. ஒரு தனி வீட்டில் அவன் வசிக்க வேண்டியதாயிற்று. அவனது மகனான யோதாம் அரண்மனையைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தினான். அவனே ஜனங்களின் ஆளுநர் ஆனான்.

அரசன் உசியா இறக்கும்வரை ஒரு தொழுநோயாளியாகவே இருந்தான். ஆண்டவரின் இல்லத்திலிருந்து அவன் விலக்கிவைக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததால், ஒரு தொழுநோயாளியாகத் தன் வீட்டில் வாழ்ந்து வந்தான். அவன் மகன் யோத்தாம் அரண்மனைப் பொறுப்பேற்று நாட்டு மக்களுக்கு நீதி வழங்கி வந்தான்.
