ஆசாரியரும் லேவியரும் கர்த்தருடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை உற்சாகமாய்க் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்குரிய பாகத்தைக் கொடுக்க ஜனங்களுக்கும் எருசலேமின் குடிகளுக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டான்.

ஜனங்கள் தம் அறுவடையிலும் மற்ற பொருட்களிலும் ஒரு பகுதியை ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும் லேவியர்களுக்கும் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று இருந்தது. எனவே எசேக்கியா அரசன் எருசலேம் நகர ஜனங்களிடம் தம் பங்கை அளிக்குமாறு கட்டளையிட்டான். இவ்வாறு ஆசாரியர்களும், லேவியர்களும் தங்களுக்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று சட்ட நெறிகளின்படி விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதோ அவ்வாறு செய்வதிலேயே தன் வாழ்நாளைச் செலவு செய்தனர்.

ஆண்டவரின் திருச்சட்டத்தில் குருக்களும் லேவியரும் முழு ஈடுபாடு கொள்ளும்படி அவர்களுக்குச் சேரவேண்டிய பங்கை அளிக்குமாறு எருசலேமில் இருந்த மக்களுக்கு அவர் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
