இந்த ஆலயத்திலும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலெல்லாம் நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட எருசலேமிலும், என் நாமத்தை என்றென்றைக்கும் விளங்கப்பண்ணுவேன் என்றும்,

அவன் ஒரு விக்கிரகத்தின் உருவச் சிலையைச் செய்து அதனை தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குள் வைத்தான். தேவன் ஆலயத்தைப் பற்றி தாவீதிடமும் அவனது மகன் சாலொமோனிடமும் பேசியிருக்கிறார். அவர், “நான் எனது பெயரை இவ்வாலயத்திலும் எருசலேமிலும் என்றென்றைக்கும் வைத்திருப்பேன். இஸ்ரவேலின் அனைத்து கோத்திரங்களிலிருந்தும் நான் எருசலேமைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன்.
