இணை வசனம்

அப்பொழுது யோசுவா தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனும் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரும் சாயங்காலமட்டும் கர்த்தரின் பெட்டிக்கு முன்பாகத் தரையிலே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, தங்கள் தலைகளின்மேல் புளுதியைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு கிடந்தார்கள்.

நீ பட்டணத்திலும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பாய்; வெளியிலும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பாய்.

ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக் கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து,

ராஜா நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு,

நான் இந்த ஸ்தலத்திற்கும் அதின் குடிகளுக்கும் விரோதமாக, அவர்கள் பாழும் சாபமுமாவார்கள் என்று சொன்னதை நீ கேட்டபோது, உன் இருதயம் இளகி, நீ கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக உன்னை தாழ்த்தி, உன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக் கொண்டு, எனக்குமுன்பாக அழுதபடியினால் நானும் உன் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டேன்.

ஒன்பதாம் மாதத்திலே ராஜா, குளிர்காலத்துக்குத் தங்கும் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாகக் கணப்பு மூட்டியிருந்தது.

நீங்கள் உங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களையல்ல, உங்கள் இருதயங்களைக் கிழித்து, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் இடத்தில் திரும்புங்கள்; அவர் இரக்கமும், மனஉருக்கமும், நீடிய சாந்தமும், மிகுந்த கிருபையுமுள்ளவர்; அவர் தீங்குக்கு மனஸ்தாபப்படுகிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்.

இப்படியிருக்க, பாவத்தை அறிகிற அறிவு நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் வருகிறபடியால், எந்த மனுஷனும் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியையினாலே தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமானாக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

ஆகையால் என்ன சொல்லுவோம்? நியாயப்பிரமாணம் பாவமோ? அல்லவே. பாவம் இன்னதென்று நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினால் நான் அறிந்தேனேயன்றி மற்றப்படி அறியவில்லை; இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்று நியாயப்பிரமாணம் சொல்லாதிருந்தால், இச்சை பாவம் என்று நான் அறியாமலிருப்பேனே.

தேவனுக்கென்று பிழைக்கும்படி நான் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தினாலே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்கு மரித்தேனே.

நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் கிரியைக்காரராகிய யாவரும் சாபத்திற்குட்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதப்பட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் செய்யத்தக்கதாக அவைகளில் நிலைத்திராதவன் எவனோ அவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே.
