அவர்கள் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய இல்க்கியாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, வாசற்படியைக் காக்கிற லேவியர் மனாசேயிலும் எப்பிராயீமிலும் இஸ்ரவேலில் மீதியானவர்களெல்லாரின் கையிலும் யூதா பென்யமீன் எங்கும் சேர்த்து, எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பி தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவந்த பணத்தை ஒப்புவித்து,

அவர்கள் தலைமை ஆசாரியனான இல்க்கியாவிடம் வந்தனர். தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்காக ஜனங்கள் கொடுத்த பணத்தை அவர்கள் இலக்கியாவிடம் கொடுத்தனர். வாயிற்காவலர்களான லேவியர்கள் இப்பணத்தை மனாசே, எப்பிராயீம் மற்றும் வெளியேறிய இஸ்ரவேலர் அனைவரிடமிருந்தும் வசூலித்திருந்தனர். அவர்கள் யூதா, பென்யமீன் மற்றும் எருசலேமில் உள்ள அனைத்து ஜனங்களிடமிருந்தும் பணத்தை வசூலித்திருந்தனர்.
