தன் தகப்பனாகிய எசேக்கியா இடித்துப்போட்ட மேடைகளைத் திரும்பவும் கட்டி, பாகாலுக்குப் பலிபீடங்களை எடுப்பித்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாப் செய்ததுபோல விக்கிரகத்தோப்பை உண்டாக்கி, வானத்தின் சேனைகளையெல்லாம் பணிந்துகொண்டு அவைகளைச் சேவித்தான்.

தன் தந்தை எசேக்கியா அழித்த மேடைகளை பொய்த் தெய்வங்களின் கோவில்களை இவன் மீண்டும் கட்டினான். இவன் பாகாலின் பலிபீடங்களையும் அசெரியாவின் உருவத்தூண்களையும் இஸ்ரவேல் அரசன் ஆகாப் செய்தது போன்றே கட்டினான். இவன் வானில் உள்ள நட்சத்திரங்களையும் தொழுதுகொண்டு வந்தான்.
