அப்பொழுது சம்பிரதியாகிய சாப்பான் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, ராஜாவுக்கு மறு உத்தரவு சொல்லி, ஆலயத்திலே தொகையிட்டுக் கண்ட பணத்தை உமது அடியார் சேர்த்துக் கட்டி, அதைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையை விசாரிக்கிறவர்கள் கையிலே கொடுத்தார்கள் என்று சொன்னான்.

அப்பொழுது சாப்பான் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, ராஜாவிற்கு மறுஉத்திரவு சொல்லி, ஆலயத்திலே தொகையிட்டுக் கிடைத்த பணத்தை உமது அடியார்கள் சேர்த்துக் கட்டி, அதைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையை விசாரிக்கிறவர்களின் கையிலே கொடுத்தார்கள் என்று சொன்னான்.

செயலாளராகிய சாப்பான் அரசனான யோசியாவிடம் வந்து, “உங்கள் வேலைக்காரர்கள் ஆலயத்திலுள்ள பணத்தையெல்லாம் சேகரித்துவிட்டார்கள். அதனை அவர்கள் வேலையைக் கண்காணிப்பவர்களிடம் கொடுத்துவிட்டார்கள்” என்றான்.

பின் எழுத்தன் சாப்பான் அரசரிடம் வந்து பதில் மொழியாக, “அரசே! உம் அடியார்கள் கோவிலில் கிடைத்த பணத்தைச் சேகரித்து, ஆண்டவரின் இல்லத்தில் வேலை செய்வோரின் மேற்பார்வையாளரிடம் கொடுத்து விட்டனர்” என்று சொன்னான்.
