அப்பொழுது கெதலியா அவர்களுக்கும்; அவர்கள் மனுஷருக்கும் ஆணையிட்டு: நீங்கள் கல்தேயரைச் சேவிக்கப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; தேசத்திலிருந்து பாபிலோன் ராஜாவைச் சேவியுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு நன்மை உண்டாகும் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது கெதலியா அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் மனிதர்களுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டு: நீங்கள் கல்தேயர்களின் ஆளுகைக்கு உட்பட பயப்படவேண்டாம்; தேசத்திலிருந்து பாபிலோன் ராஜாவிற்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு நன்மை உண்டாகும் என்றான்.

கெதலியா அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு வாக்குறுதி அளித்தான். அவன், “பாபிலோனிய அதிகாரிகளுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டாம். இங்கிருந்து அரசருக்கு சேவைச் செய்க. பிறகு உங்களுக்கு எல்லாம் சரியாக இருக்கும்” என்றான்.

கெதலியா அவர்களையும் அவர்களின் ஆள்களையும் நோக்கி, “கல்தேய அலுவலர்களுக்கு நீங்கள் அஞ்ச வேண்டாம். உங்கள் நாட்டில் இருந்துகொண்டே பாபிலோனிய மன்னனுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்யுங்கள். அது உங்களுக்கு நல்லது” என்று ஆணையிட்டுக் கூறினான்.
