கர்த்தர்: உன் குமாரருக்குள்ளே எந்நாளும் ஒரு விளக்கை உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்று தம்முடைய தாசனாகிய தாவீதுக்குச் சொன்னதின்படியே, அவனிமித்தம் அவர் யூதாவை முற்றிலும் கெடுக்கவில்லை.

ஆனால் தன் வேலையாள் தாவீதிற்கு கர்த்தர் சத்தியம் செய்து கொடுத்திருந்ததால் யூதாவை அழிக்கமாட்டார். அவர் ஏற்கெனவே தாவீதின் குடும்பத்தில் உள்ளவனே அரசனாக எப்பொழுதும் இருப்பான் என்று ஆணையிட்டுள்ளார்.

ஆயினும், ஆண்டவர் தம் அடியான் தாவீதை முன்னிட்டு யூதாவை அழிக்க விரும்பவில்லை; ஏனெனில், அவர்தம் மைந்தராம் குல விளக்கை எந்நாளும் காப்பதாக அவருக்கு வாக்களித்திருந்தார்.⒫
