ஆசகேல் தமஸ்குவின் சகல உச்சிதங்களிலும் நாற்பது ஒட்டகங்களின் சுமையான காணிக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு போய், அவனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்று, சீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய பெனாதாத் என்னும் உம்முடைய குமாரன் என்னை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பி, இந்த வியாதி நீங்கிப் பிழைப்பேனா என்று கேட்கச்சொன்னார் என்றான்.

எனவே, ஆசகேல் எலிசாவை சந்திக்க சென்றான். தன்னோடு அன்பளிப்பையும் எடுத்துச்சென்றான். தமஸ்குவிலுள்ள சிறந்த பொருட்களையெல்லாம் கொண்டு சென்றான். அவற்றை 40 ஒட்டகங்களில் எடுத்துச் சென்றான். அவன், “உங்கள் தொண்டனான ஆராமின் அரசரான பெனாதாத் என்னை உங்களிடம் அனுப்பினார். நோயிலிருந்து தான் குணமாவேனா என்று கேட்கச்சொன்னார்” என்றான்.

எனவே, அவன் தமஸ்குவில் கிடைக்கக்கூடிய எல்லா விதமான அரும்பொருள்களையும் நாற்பது ஒட்டகச் சுமையளவு கையோடு அன்பளிப்பாக எடுத்துக்கொண்டு சென்றான். அவர் முன் வந்து நின்று அவன் அவரை நோக்கி, “நான் இந்நோயினின்று நலம் பெறுவேனா? என்று கேட்குமாறு சிரியாவின் மன்னனும் உம் புதல்வனுமான பெனதாது உம்மிடம் என்னை அனுப்பியுள்ளார்” என்றான்.
