கர்த்தருடைய நாள் இரவிலே திருடன் வருகிறவிதமாய் வரும்; அப்பொழுது வானங்கள் மடமட என்று அகன்றுபோம், பூதங்கள் வெந்து உருகிப்போம், பூமியும் அதிலுள்ள கிரியைகளுமெரிந்து அழிந்துபோம்.

கர்த்தருடைய நாள் இரவிலே திருடன் வருகிறதுபோல வரும்; அப்பொழுது வானங்கள் பயங்கர சத்தத்தோடு விலகிப்போகும், பஞ்சபூதங்கள் வெந்து உருகிப்போகும், பூமியும் அதில் உள்ள செயல்களும் எரிந்து அழிந்துபோகும்.

திருடன் வருவதைப் போன்று கர்த்தர் மீண்டும் வருகிற நாளும் ஆச்சரியமானதாக இருக்கும். மிகுந்த சத்தத்தோடு வானம் மறையும். வானிலுள்ள எல்லாப் பொருள்களும் நெருப்பால் அழிக்கப்படும். பூமியும் அதிலுள்ள மக்களும் அதிலுள்ள சகலமும் நெருப்பிலிடப்பட்டது போலாகும்.

திருவிவிலியம்
ஆனால் ஆண்டவருடைய நாள் திருடனைப்போல வரும். வானங்கள் பெருமுழக்கத்துடன் மறைந்தொழியும்; பஞ்சபூதங்கள் வெந்திருகிப் போகும். மண்ணுலகமும் அதன் செயல்களும் தீக்கிரையாகும்.
