எல்லா நிருபங்களிலும் இவைகளைக்குறித்துப் பேசியிருக்கிறான்; அவன் சொன்னவைகளில் சில காரியங்கள் அறிகிறதற்கு அரிதாயிருக்கிறது; கல்லாதவர்களும் உறுதியில்லாதவர்களும் மற்ற வேதவாக்கியங்களைப் புரட்டுகிறதுபோலத் தங்களுக்குக் கேடுவரத்தக்கதாக இவைகளையும் புரட்டுகிறார்கள்.

எல்லாக் கடிதங்களிலும் இவைகளைக்குறித்துப் பேசியிருக்கிறான்; அவன் சொன்னவைகளில் சில காரியங்கள் புரிந்துகொள்வதற்கு கடினமாக இருக்கிறது; கல்லாதவர்களும் உறுதி இல்லாதவர்களும் மற்ற வேதவாக்கியங்களைப் புரட்டுகிறதுபோலத் தங்களுக்குத் தீமை வரும்படி இவைகளையும் புரட்டுகிறார்கள்.

பவுல் அவரது எல்லா நிருபங்களிலும் இக்காரியங்களைக் குறித்து இவ்வாறே எழுதுகிறார். புரிந்துகொள்ளக் கடினமான விஷயங்கள் சில சமயங்களில் அவருடைய நிருபங்களில் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. அறியாமை உள்ளவர்களும், விசுவாசத்தில் நிரந்தரமற்றவர்களும் அவ்விஷயங்களைத் தவறான முறையில் எடுத்துரைக்கிறார்கள். இதே முறையில் மற்ற வேதவாக்கியங்களையும் அவர்கள் தவறாக எடுத்துரைக்கிறார்கள். அவ்வாறு செய்வதால் அவர்கள் தங்களையே அழித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர்.

தம்முடை திருமுகங்களில் இவை பற்றிப் பேசும் போதெல்லாம் இவ்வாறே அவர் சொல்லுகிறார். அவருடைய திருமுகங்களில் புரிந்துகொள்வதற்குக் கடினமானவை சில உண்டு. கல்வி அறிவில்லாதவர்களும் உறுதியற்றவர்களும் மறைநூலின் மற்றப் பகுதிகளுக்குப் பொருள் திரித்துக் கூறுவதுபோல் இவற்றுக்கும் கூறுகின்றனர்; அதனால் தங்களுக்கே அழிவை வருவித்துக் கொள்கின்றனர்.⒫
