தாவீது மலையுச்சியிலிருந்து சற்றப்புறம் நடந்துபோனபோது, இதோ, மேவிபோசேத்தின் காரியக்காரனாகிய சீபா, பொதிகளைச் சுமக்கிற இரண்டு கழுதைகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைச் சந்தித்தான்; அவைகளில் இருநூறு அப்பங்களும், வற்றலான நூறு திராட்சப்பழக்குலைகளும், வசந்தகாலத்துப் பலனான நூறு குலைகளும், ஒரு துருத்தி திராட்சரசமும் இருந்தது.

தாவீது ஒலிவமலை உச்சியின் மேல் கொஞ்சதூரம் நடந்துப்போனான். அங்கு மேவிபோசேத்தின் பணியாளாகிய சீபா தாவீதைச் சந்தித்தான். சீபாவிடம் சேணம் கட்டப்பட்ட இரண்டு கழுதைகள் இருந்தன. கழுதைகள் 200 ரொட்டிகளையும், 100 குலைகள் உலர்ந்த திராட்சைகளையும், 100 கோடைக்காலக் கனிகளையும் ஒரு துருத்தி திராட்சைரத்தையும் சுமந்து வந்தன.

தாவீது மலை உச்சியைக் கடந்து சிறிது தொலை சென்றதும், மெபிபோசேத்தின் பணியாளன் சீபா அவரைச் சந்திக்க வந்தான். அவன் இருநூறு அப்பங்கள், நூறு உலர்ந்த திராட்சை அடைகள், நூறு அத்திப் பழ அடைகள், ஒரு தோற்பை திராட்சை இரசம் ஆகியவற்றைக் கழுதைகளின் மேல் ஏற்றிக் கொண்டு வந்தான்.
