அவர்கள் கிபியோன் கிட்ட இருக்கிற பெரிய கல்லண்டையிலே வந்தபோது, அமாசா அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்பட்டுவந்தான்; யோவாபோ, தான் உடுத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கிற தன் சட்டையின்மேல் ஒரு கச்சையைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்; அதில் உறையோடே ஒரு பட்டயம் அவன் இடுப்பண்டையிலே தொங்கிற்று; அவன் புறப்படுகையில் அது விழுந்தது.

அவர்கள் கிபியோனின் பக்கத்தில் இருக்கிற பெரிய பாறை அருகில் வந்தபோது, அமாசா அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக வந்தான்; யோவாபோ, தான் அணிந்துகொண்டிருக்கிற தன்னுடைய சட்டையின்மேல் ஒரு வாரைக் கட்டியிருந்தான்; அதில் உறையோடு ஒரு பட்டயம் அவன் இடுப்பில் தொங்கினது; அவன் புறப்படும்போது அது விழுந்தது.

கிபியோனிலுள்ள பெரும்பாறை அருகே யோவாபும் அவனது படையும் வந்தபோது. அவர்களை சந்திப்பதற்கு அமாசா அங்கு வந்தான். யோவாப் சீருடை அணிந்திருந்தான். யோவாப் கட்டியிருந்த கச்சைக்குள் உறையில் தன் வாளை வைத்திருந்தான். யோவாப் அமாசாவை சந்திக்க நடந்து சென்றபோது யோவாபின் வாள் உறையிலிருந்து வெளியே விழுந்தது. யோவாப் வாளை எடுத்துக் கையில் ஏந்தியிருந்தான்.

அவர்கள் கிபயோனிலுள்ள பெருங்கல் அருகே வந்தனர். அமாசா அவர்கள் முன்பாக வந்தான். யோவாபு தாம் உடுத்தியிருந்த போருடைமீது ஒரு கச்சை கட்டியிருந்தார். அதிலே உறையோடு கூடிய ஒரு குறுவாள் செருகப்பட்டிருந்தது. அவர் முன்னால் சென்றபோது அது கீழே வீழ்ந்தது.
