உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்கே என்று என்னோடே சொல்லுகிற என் சத்துருவானவள் அதைப் பார்க்கும்போது வெட்கம் அவளை மூடும்; என் கண்கள் அவளைக் காணும்; இனி வீதிகளின் சேற்றைப்போல மிதிக்கப்படுவாள்.

அவபக்தியான ஜனங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் நான் அவனை அனுப்பி, எனக்குக் கோபமூட்டின ஜனத்தைக்கொள்ளையிடவும், சூறையாடவும், அதை வீதிகளின் சேற்றைப்போல் மிதித்துப்போடவும் அவனுக்குக் கட்டளைகொடுப்பேன்.

யோவாகாசுக்குச் சீரியாவின் ராஜா, ஐம்பது குதிரைவீரரையும், பத்து இரதங்களையும், பதினாயிரம் காலாட்களையுமே அல்லாமல், ஜனங்களில் வேறொன்றும் மீதியாக வைக்கவில்லை; அவன் அவர்களை அழித்துப் போரடிக்கும் இடத்துத் தூளைப்போல ஆக்கிப்போட்டான்.

அவர்கள் யுத்தத்திலே தங்கள் சத்துருக்களை வீதிகளின் சேற்றில் மிதிக்கிற பராக்கிரமசாலிகளைப்போல இருந்து யுத்தம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; கர்த்தர் அவர்களோடேகூட இருப்பார்; குதிரைகளின்மேல் ஏறிவருகிறவர்கள் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்.

எங்கள் கை உயர்ந்ததென்றும், கர்த்தர் இதையெல்லாம் செய்யவில்லை என்றும் அவர்களுடைய பகைஞர் தப்பெண்ணங்கொண்டு சொல்லுவார்கள் என்று,

நான் அவர்களைக் காற்று முகத்திலே பறக்கிற தூளாக இடித்து, தெருக்களிலுள்ள சேற்றைப்போல் அவர்களை எறிந்துபோடுகிறேன்.

அவர்கள் காற்றுமுகத்தில் பறக்கும் பதரைப்போலாவார்களாக; கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவர்களைத் துரத்துவானாக.

இந்த ஜாதியைப் பெருகப்பண்ணினீர்; கர்த்தாவே, இந்த ஜாதியைப் பெருகப்பண்ணினீர்; நீர் மகிமைப்பட்டீர், தேசத்தின் எல்லை எல்லாவற்றையும் நெடுந்தூரத்தில் தள்ளி வைத்தீர்.

அப்பொழுது அந்த இரும்பும் களிமண்ணும் வெண்கலமும் வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் ஏகமாய் நொறுங்குண்டு, கோடைகாலத்தில் போரடிக்கிற களத்திலிருந்து பறந்துபோகிற பதரைப்போலாயிற்று; அவைகளுக்கு ஒரு இடமும் கிடையாதபடி காற்று அவைகளை அடித்துக்கொண்டுபோயிற்று; சிலையை மோதின கல்லோவென்றால், ஒரு பெரிய பர்வதமாகி பூமியையெல்லாம் நிரப்பிற்று.

ஓகோ, நீங்கள் எழும்பி வடதேசத்திலிருந்து ஓடிவாருங்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; ஆகாயத்து நான்கு திசைகளிலும் உங்களை நான் சிதறப்பண்ணினேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

இதோ, சூளையைப்போல எரிகிறநாள் வரும்; அப்பொழுது அகங்காரிகள் யாவரும் அக்கிரமஞ்செய்கிற யாவரும் துரும்பாயிருப்பார்கள்; வரப்போகிற அந்த நாள் அவர்களைச் சுட்டெரிக்கும்; அது அவர்களுக்கு வேரையும் கொப்பையும் வைக்காமற்போகும் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

பட்டயக்கருக்கினாலே விழுவார்கள், சகல புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளும் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போவார்கள்; புறஜாதியாரின் காலம் நிறைவேறும் வரைக்கும் எருசலேம் புறஜாதியாரால் மிதிக்கப்படும்.
