ஆபிரகாமின் குமாரனாகிய தாவீதின் குமாரனான இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய வம்ச வரலாறு:

என் சுவிசேஷத்தின்படியே, தேவன் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைக்கொண்டு மனுஷருடைய அந்தரங்கங்களைக்குறித்து நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கொடுக்கும் நாளிலே இது விளங்கும்.

தேவன் அவருடைய மரண உபாதிகளின் கட்டை அவிழ்த்து, அவரை எழுப்பினார்; அவர் மரணத்தினால் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கக்கூடாதிருந்தது.

எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, கிறிஸ்து பாடுபடவும், மூன்றாம்நாளில் மரித்தோரிலிருந்தெழுந்திருக்கவும் வேண்டியதாயிருந்தது;

ஆதிகாலமுதல் அடக்கமாயிருந்து, இப்பொழுது தீர்க்கதரிசன ஆகமங்களினாலே அநாதி தேவனுடைய கட்டளையின்படி வெளியரங்கமாக்கப்பட்டதும், சகலஜாதிகளும் விசுவாசத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியும்படிக்கு அவர்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதுமாயிருக்கிற இரகசியத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறதான,

அன்றியும், சகோதரரே, நான் உங்களுக்குப் பிரசங்கித்த சுவிசேஷத்தை மறுபடியும் உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துகிறேன்; நீங்களும் அதை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, அதிலே நிலைத்திருக்கிறீர்கள்

அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டு, வேதவாக்கியங்களின்படி மூன்றாம் நாளில் உயிர்த்தெழுந்து,

அவர் தமக்குமுன் வைத்திருந்த சந்தோஷத்தின்பொருட்டு, அவமானத்தை எண்ணாமல், சிலுவையைச் சகித்து, தேவனுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின் வலதுபாரிசத்தில் வீற்றிருக்கிறார்.

அப்பொழுது மூப்பர்களில் ஒருவன் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ அழவேண்டாம்; இதோ, யூதா கோத்திரத்துச் சிங்கமும் தாவீதின் வேருமானவர் புஸ்தகத்தைத் திறக்கவும் அதின் ஏழு முத்திரைகளையும் உடைக்கவும் ஜெயங்கொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்றான்.
