அப்பொழுது, அந்தப் பட்டணத்தார் யாவரும் இயேசுவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து, அவரைக் கண்டு, தங்கள் எல்லைகளைவிட்டுப் போகும்படி வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது தங்கள் எல்லைகளை விட்டுப்போகும்படி அவரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரராகிய இவர்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து, பணிந்து, நீயும் உன்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்கள் யாவரும் புறப்பட்டுப்போங்கள் என்று சொல்லுவார்கள்; அதின் பின் புறப்படுவேன் என்று சொல்லி, உக்கிரமான கோபத்தோடே பார்வோனைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டான்.

எகிப்தின் சம்பாத்தியமும், எத்தியோப்பியாவின் வர்த்தகலாபமும், நெடிய ஆட்களாகிய சபேயரின் வர்த்தகலாபமும், உன்னிடத்திற்குத் தாண்டிவந்து, உன்னுடையதாகும்; அவர்கள் உன் பின்னே சென்று, விலங்கிடப்பட்டு நடந்துவந்து: உன்னுடனேமாத்திரம் தேவன் இருக்கிறார் என்றும், அவரையல்லாமல் வேறே தேவன் இல்லையென்றும் சொல்லி, உன்னைப்பணிந்துகொண்டு, உன்னை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

ராஜாக்கள் உன்னை வளர்க்கும் தந்தைகளும், அவர்களுடைய நாயகிகள் உன் கைத்தாய்களுமாயிருப்பார்கள்; தரையிலே முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து உன்னைப் பணிந்து, உன் கால்களின் தூளை நக்குவார்கள்; நான் கர்த்தர், எனக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறவர்கள் வெட்கப்படுவதில்லை என்பதை அப்பொழுது அறிந்துகொள்வாய்;

உன்னை ஒடுக்கினவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளும் குனிந்து உன்னிடத்தில் வந்து, உன்னை அசட்டைபண்ணின யாவரும் உன் காலத்தில் பணிந்து, உன்னைக் கர்த்தருடைய நகரம் என்றும், இஸ்ரவேலுடைய பரிசுத்தரின் சீயோன் என்றும் சொல்வார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது ராஜா கட்டளையிட, அவர்கள் தானியேலைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைச் சிங்கங்களின் கெபியிலே போட்டார்கள். ராஜா தானியேலை நோக்கி: நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னைத் தப்புவிப்பார் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது ராஜா தன்னில் மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு தானியேலைக் கெபியிலிருந்து தூக்கிவிடச் சொன்னான்; அப்படியே தானியேல் கெபியிலிருந்து தூக்கிவிடப்பட்டான்; அவன் தன் தேவன்பேரில் விசுவாசித்திருந்தபடியால், அவனில் ஒரு சேதமும் காணப்படவில்லை.

நான் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; அவர் எனக்காக வழக்காடி என் நியாயத்தை விசாரிக்குமட்டும் அவருடைய கோபத்தைச் சுமப்பேன்; அவர் என்னை வெளிச்சத்திலே கொண்டுவருவார், அவருடைய நீதியைப் பார்ப்பேன்.

இதோ, யூதரல்லாதிருந்தும் தங்களை யூதரென்று பொய் சொல்லுகிறவர்களாகிய சாத்தானுடைய கூட்டத்தாரில் சிலரை உனக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்; இதோ, அவர்கள் உன் பாதங்களுக்கு முன்பாக வந்து பணிந்து, நான் உன்மேல் அன்பாயிருக்கிறதை அறிந்துகொள்ளும்படி செய்வேன்.
