பவுலின்மேல் யூதராலே ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்ட குற்றம் இன்னதென்று நிச்சயமாய் அறிய விரும்பி, அவன் மறுநாளிலே அவனைக் கட்டவிழ்த்து, பிரதான ஆசாரியரையும் ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தார் அனைவரையும் கூடிவரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டு, அவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தினான்.

மறுநாள் யூதர்கள் பவுலுக்கு எதிராகப் பேசும் உறுதியான காரணத்தைக் கண்டறிய அந்த அதிகாரி முடிவு செய்தான். எனவே தலைமை ஆசாரியரையும் யூதர்களையும் அழைத்து பவுலின் விலங்குகளைக் கழற்றக் கட்டளையிட்டான். பின் பவுலை வெளியே அழைத்து வந்து, அக்கூட்டத்தின் முன்பாக நிறுத்தினான்.
