இவன் அவர்களுடைய வேதத்திற்கடுத்த விஷயங்களைக்குறித்துக் குற்றஞ்சாட்டப்பட்டவனென்று விளங்கினதேயல்லாமல், மரணத்துக்காவது விலங்குக்காவது ஏற்ற குற்றம் யாதொன்றும் இவனிடத்தில் இல்லையென்று கண்டறிந்தேன்.

எனவே யூத சங்கத்திற்கு முன்னால் அவனைக் கொண்டு வந்தேன். இதுவே நான் கண்டது. தவறான சில காரியங்களைப் பவுல் செய்ததாக யூதர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் அந்தக் குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் அவர்களது சொந்த யூதவிதிகளைப் பற்றியது. இந்த விஷயங்கள் எதுவும் சிறைத் தண்டனைக்கோ மரண தண்டனைக்கோ ஏற்றவை அல்ல.

அவர்களுடைய திருச்சட்டம் சார்ந்த கருத்து வேறுபாடுகளின் காரணமாகத்தான் இவர் குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிறார். சாவுக்கோ சிறைத் தண்டனைக்கோ உரிய குற்றம் எதையும் இவரிடத்தில் நான் காணவில்லை.
