அப்பொழுது பேதுரு பரிசுத்த ஆவியிலே நிறைந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஜனத்தின் அதிகாரிகளே, இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர்களே,

சோதோமின் அதிபதிகளே, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்; கொமோராவின் ஜனமே, நமது தேவனுடைய வேதத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள்.

அக்கிரமத்தை யோசித்து, தங்கள் படுக்கைகளின்மேல் பொல்லாப்புசெய்ய எத்தனம்பண்ணித் தங்கள் கையில் வல்லமை இருக்கிறபடியினால், விடியற்காலமாகிறபோது அதை நடப்பித்து.

விடியற்காலமானபோது, சகல பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் ஜனத்தின் மூப்பரும், இயேசுவைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி, அவருக்கு விரோதமாக ஆலோசனைபண்ணி,

பொழுது விடிந்தவுடனே, பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் மூப்பரும் வேதபாரகரும் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தாரனைவரும் கூடி ஆலோசனைபண்ணி, இயேசுவைக் கட்டிக் கொண்டுபோய், பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்கள்.

அந்நாட்களில் ஒன்றில், அவர் தேவாலயத்திலே ஜனங்களுக்கு உபதேசித்து சுவிசேஷத்தைப் பிரசங்கித்தபோது, பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் வேதபாரகரும் மூப்பரும் அவரிடத்தில் கூடிவந்து:

விடியற்காலமானபோது ஜனத்தின் மூப்பரும் பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் வேதபாரகரும் கூடிவந்து, தங்கள் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் அவரைக் கொண்டுவந்து நிறுத்தி:

பிலாத்து பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களையும் அதிகாரிகளையும் ஜனங்களையும் கூடிவரச்செய்து,

நம்முடைய பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் அதிகாரிகளும் அவரை மரண ஆக்கினைக்குட்படுத்தி, சிலுவையில் அறைந்தார்கள்.

நீங்கள் போய், தேவாலயத்திலே நின்று, இந்த வார்த்தைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது சகல ஜனங்களாலும் கனம்பெற்ற நியாயசாஸ்திரியாகிய கமாலியேல் என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு பரிசேயன் ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தில் எழுந்திருந்து, அப்போஸ்தலரைச் சற்றுநேரம் வெளியே கொண்டுபோகச்சொல்லி,

ஜனங்களையும் மூப்பரையும் வேதபாரகரையும் எழுப்பிவிட்டு; அவன்மேல் பாய்ந்து, அவனைப் பிடித்து, ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தாருக்கு முன்பாக இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்;
