சீமோன் என்று பேர்கொண்ட ஒருமனுஷன் அந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே மாயவித்தைக்காரனாயிருந்து, தன்னை ஒரு பெரியவனென்று சொல்லி, சமாரியாநாட்டு ஜனங்களைப் பிரமிக்கப்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
