எகிப்தில் உண்டானதற்கு ஒத்த கொள்ளைநோயை உங்களுக்குள் அனுப்பினேன்; உங்கள் வாலிபரைப் பட்டயத்தாலே கொன்றேன்; உங்கள் குதிரைகளை அழித்துப்போட்டேன்; உங்கள் பாளயங்களின் நாற்றத்தை உங்கள் நாசிகளிலும் ஏற்றப்பண்ணினேன்; ஆகிலும் நீங்கள் என்னிடத்தில் திரும்பாமற்போனீர்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

எகிப்திலே உண்டானதற்கு ஒப்பான கொள்ளைநோயை உங்களுக்குள் அனுப்பினேன்; உங்களுடைய வாலிபர்களை வாளாலே கொன்றேன்; உங்களுடைய குதிரைகளை அழித்துப்போட்டேன்; உங்களுடைய முகாம்களின் நாற்றத்தை உங்களுடைய நாசிகளிலும் ஏறச்செய்தேன்; ஆகிலும் நீங்கள் என்னிடத்தில் திரும்பாமல்போனீர்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

“நான் எகிப்திற்குச் செய்ததுபோல உங்களுக்கு எதிராக வியாதிகளை அனுப்பினேன். நான் உங்களது இளைஞர்களை வாள்களால் கொன்றேன். நான் உங்கள் குதிரைகளை எடுத்துக்கொண்டேன். நான் உங்கள் பாளயம் பிணங்களால் துர்நாற்றம் வீசும்படி செய்தேன். ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் என்னிடம் உதவிக்காக வரவில்லை” என்று கர்த்தர் கூறினார்.
