அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குள்ளே ராஜகுலத்தார்களிலும் துரைமக்களிலும் யாதொரு மாசும் இல்லாதவர்களும், அழகானவர்களும், சகல ஞானத்திலும் தேறினவர்களும், அறிவில் சிறந்தவர்களும், கல்வியில் நிபுணரும், ராஜாவின் அரமனையிலே சேவிக்கத் திறமையுள்ளவர்களுமாகிய சில வாலிபரை கொண்டுவரவும்,

அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்குள்ளே ராஜவம்சத்தார்களிலும் உயர்குடிமக்களிலும் எந்தவொரு குறைபாடும் இல்லாதவர்களும், அழகானவர்களும், சகல ஞானத்திலும் தேறினவர்களும், அறிவில் சிறந்தவர்களும், கல்வியில் நிபுணர்களும், ராஜாவின் அரண்மனையிலே வேலைசெய்யத் திறமையுள்ளவர்களுமாகிய சில வாலிபர்களைக் கொண்டுவரவும்,

பிறகு அரசனான நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அஸ்பேனாஸ் என்பவனுக்கு ஒரு கட்டளை கொடுத்தான். (அஸ்பேனாஸ், அரசனுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்யும் அலிகளில் மிக முக்கியமான தலைவன்). அரசன், அஸ்பேனாசிடம் அவனது வீட்டிற்கு சில யூதர்களை அழைத்துவரும்படி சொன்னான். நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் முக்கியமான குடும்பங்களிலிருந்தும் இஸ்ரவேல் அரசகுடும்பங்களிலிருந்தும், யூதர்களை விரும்பினான்.
