பின்பு தானியேல் பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளை அழிக்க ராஜா கட்டளையிட்ட ஆரியோகினிடத்தில் போய்; பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளை அழிக்காதேயும் என்னை ராஜாவின் முன்பாக அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோம்; ராஜாவுக்கு அர்த்தத்தைத் தெரிவிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னான்.

பின்பு தானியேல் பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளை அழிக்க ராஜா கட்டளையிட்ட ஆரியோகினிடத்தில் போய்: பாபிலோனின் ஞானிகளை அழிக்காதேயும், என்னை ராஜாவின் முன்பாக அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோம்; ராஜாவிற்கு அர்த்தத்தைத் தெரிவிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னான்.

பின்னர் தானியேல், ஆரியோகுவிடம் சென்றான். அரசனான நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் பாபிலோனிலுள்ள ஞானிகளைக் கொல்ல ஆரியோகுவைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருந்தான். தானியேல் ஆரியோகிடம், “பாபிலோனிலுள்ள ஞானிகளைக் கொல்லவேண்டாம். என்னை அரசனிடம் கொண்டுபோங்கள். நான் அவரிடம் அவரது கனவையும் அதன் பொருளையும் கூறுவேன்” என்றான்.

பின்பு தானியேல், பாபிலோனிய ஞானிகளை அழிப்பதற்கு அரசனால் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட அரியோக்கிடம் போய், அவனை நோக்கி, “நீர் பாபிலோனிய ஞானிகளை அழிக்க வேண்டாம்; என்னை அரசர் முன்னிலைக்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும்; நான் அரசரது கனவின் உட்பொருளை விளக்கிக் கூறுவேன்” என்றார்.⒫
