தானியேல் ராஜாவை வேண்டிக்கொண்டதின்பேரில் அவன் சாத்ராக்கையும், மேஷாக்கையும், ஆபேத்நேகோவையும் பாபிலோன் மகாநகரத்துக் காரியங்களை விசாரிக்கும்படி வைத்தான்; தானியேலோவென்றால் ராஜாவின் கொலுமண்டபத்தில் இருந்தான்.

தானியேல் அரசனிடம் சாத்ராக்கையும், மேஷாக்கையும், ஆபேத்நேகோவையும் பாபிலோன் மாகாணத்தின் காரியங்களை விசாரிக்கும் அதிகாரிகளாக்கும்படி வேண்டினான். தானியேல் வேண்டியபடியே அரசன் செய்தான். தானியேலும் அரசன் அருகிலே இருக்கும் முக்கியமானவர்களில் ஒருவனானான்.

மேலும் தானியேலின் வேண்டுகோளின்படி சாத்ராக்கு, மேசாக்கு, ஆபேத்நெகோ ஆகியோரைப் பாபிலோன் நாட்டின் புறப்பகுதிகளுக்குப் பொறுப்பாளராக நியமித்தான். தானியேலோ அரசனது அவையில் தொடர்ந்து பணியாற்றினார்.
