அப்பொழுது தானியேல் ராஜாவின்முன் உள்ளே அழைத்துவந்துவிடப்பட்டான்; ராஜா தானியேலைப் பார்த்து: நீ என் பிதாவாகிய ராஜா யூதாவிலிருந்து சிறைபிடித்துவந்த யூதரில் ஒருவனாகிய தானியேல் அல்லவா?

அப்பொழுது தானியேல் ராஜாவின்முன் உள்ளே அழைத்துவரப்பட்டான்; ராஜா தானியேலைப் பார்த்து: நீ என் தகப்பனாகிய ராஜா யூதாவிலிருந்து சிறைபிடித்துவந்த யூதர்களில் ஒருவனாகிய தானியேல் அல்லவா?

எனவே அவர்கள் தானியேலை அரசனிடம் அழைத்துவந்தனர். அரசன் தானியேலிடம் உனது பெயர் தானியேல்தானா? யூதாவிலிருந்து என் தந்தையால் சிறை பிடிக்கப்பட்டு கொண்டுவரப்பட்டவர்களில் நீ ஒருவனா?

அவ்வாறே அரசன் முன்னிலைக்குத் தானியேல் அழைத்து வரப்பட்டார். அரசன் அவரைப்பார்த்து, “என் தந்தையாகிய அரசன் யூதாவிலிருந்து சிறைப் பிடித்துவந்தவர்களுள் ஒருவனாகிய தானியேல் என்பவன் நீதானே?
