அப்பொழுது மற்றவைகளையெல்லாம் பார்க்கிலும் வேற்றுருவும் கெடியுமுள்ளதுமாய், இருப்புப் பற்களும், வெண்கல நகங்களுமுடையதாய் நொறுக்கிப் பட்சித்து, மீதியானதைத் தன் கால்களால் மிதித்துப்போட்டதுமாயிருந்த நாலாம் மிருகத்தைக் குறித்தும்,

அப்பொழுது மற்றவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் வேறுபட்ட உருவம் கொடியதும், இரும்புப் பற்களும், வெண்கல நகங்களுமுடையதாக நொறுக்கி அழித்தது. மீதியானதைத் தன் கால்களால் மிதித்துப் போட்டதுமாயிருந்த நான்காம் மிருகத்தைக்குறித்தும்,

“பிறகு, நான் நான்காவது மிருகம் எதைக் குறிக்கும்? அதன் பொருள் என்ன? என்பதை அறிந்துகொள்ள விரும்பினேன். அந்த நான்காவது மிருகமானது மற்ற மிருகங்களிடமிருந்து வித்தியாசமானது. இது மிகப் பயங்கரமானது. இதற்கு இரும்புப் பல்லும் வெண்கல நகங்களும் இருந்தன. அது தன் இரையைப் பிடித்து நொறுக்கி முழுமையாகத் தின்றது. மற்றவர்களை அது காலால் மிதித்துத் துவைத்தது.

அதன் பின்னர், மற்ற விலங்குகளினின்று மாறுபட்டு, மிகவும் அஞ்சி நடுங்கவைக்கும் தோற்றத்துடன், இரும்புப் பற்களும் வெண்கல நகங்களும் கொண்டு. அனைத்தையும் தூள் தூளாக நொறுக்கி விழுங்கி, எஞ்சியதைக் கால்களால் மிதித்துப்போட்ட அந்த நான்காம் விலங்கைப்பற்றி அறிந்து கொள்ள விரும்பினேன்.
