அதின் தலைமேலுள்ள பத்துக்கொம்புகளைக்குறித்தும் தனக்கு முன்பாக மூன்று கொம்புகள் விழுந்துபோக எழும்பினதுமாய், கண்களையும் பெருமையானவைகளைப் பேசும் வாயையுமுடையதுமாய், மற்றவைகளைப்பார்க்கிலும் பருமனாகத் தோன்றினதுமாயிருந்த அந்த வேறே கொம்பைக்குறித்தும், அவற்றின் பொருளை அறிய மனதாயிருந்தேன்.

நான், நான்காவது மிருகத்தின் தலைமீது முளைத்த பத்துக் கொம்புகளைப்பற்றி அறிந்துகொள்ள விரும்பினேன். அதில் முளைத்த சிறிய கொம்பைப்பற்றியும் அறிந்துகொள்ள விரும்பினேன். அச்சிறிய கொம்பு மற்ற பத்துக் கொம்புகளில் மூன்றைப் பிடுங்கியது. அச்சிறு கொம்பிற்கு மனிதக் கண்கள் இருந்தன. அது தொடர்ந்து இறுமாப்பாய்ப் பேசியது. மற்றக் கொம்புகளை விடவும் இது குரூரமானதாகக் காணப்பட்டது.
