இரத்தப்பழிக்காரன் தன் மனம் எரிகையில், கொலைசெய்தவனை வழி தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினாலே பின் தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, அவனைக் கொன்று போடாதபடிக்கு, இவன் அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் ஒன்றில் ஓடிப்போய் உயிரோடிருப்பானாக; இவன் அவனை முன்னே பகைக்காதபடியினால், இவன்மேல் சாவுக்கான குற்றம் சுமரவில்லை.

இரத்தப்பழிக்காரன் தன் மனம் எரியும்போது கொலைசெய்தவனை வழி தூரமாயிருக்கிறதினாலே பின்தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, அவனைக் கொன்றுபோடாதபடி, இவன் அந்தப் பட்டணங்கள் ஒன்றில் ஓடிப்போய் உயிரோடிருப்பானாக; இவன் அவனை முன்னே பகைக்காததினால், இவன்மேல் சாவுக்கான குற்றம் சுமரவில்லை.

ஆனால், இந்தப் பட்டணம் வெகு தூரத்தில் இருப்பதினால் போதுமான வேகத்திற்கு அவனால் ஓடமுடியாமல் போகலாம். அப்போது கொலையுண்டவனின் நெருங்கிய உறவினன் பழிவாங்கும் நோக்கத்தோடு அவனை விரட்டக்கூடும். அவன் கோபாவேசம் நிறைந்தவனாய் கொலை செய்தவனை நெருங்கியவுடன் அவனைக் கொன்று போடக்கூடும். இப்படி அவன் மரிக்க வேண்டியவனல்ல. ஏனெனில், அவன் முன் விரோதமின்றி கொலை செய்தவனாவான்.

திருவிவிலியம்
இல்லையெனில், கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவனின் முறை உறவினன், கோப வெறியால் பழிவாங்கும்படி கொலையாளியைப் பின்தொடரும் போது, செல்லும் வழி நீண்டதாக இருந்தால் அவனைப் பிடித்துக் கொன்றுவிட ஏதுவாகும். ஆனால், கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவன் மீது கொலையாளிக்கு முன்பகை இல்லாததால் அவன் சாவுக்குரிய குற்றம் ஏதும் செய்யவில்லை என்பது உண்மை.

Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.
