அதினால் கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் தமது ஜனத்தின்மேல் மூண்டது; அவர் தமது சுதந்தரத்தை அருவருத்தார்.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின் மேல் கோபமூண்டவராகி, அவர்கள் அப்புறம் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கக் கூடாதபடி கொள்ளையிடுகிற கொள்ளைக்காரர் கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற அவர்கள் பகைஞரின் கையிலே விற்றுப்போட்டார்.

வானங்களே, கேளுங்கள்; பூமியே, செவிகொடு; கர்த்தர் பேசுகிறார்; நான் பிள்ளைகளை வளர்த்து ஆதரித்தேன்; அவர்களோ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

உங்கள் நடுவில் என் வாசஸ்தலத்தை ஸ்தாபிப்பேன்; என் ஆத்துமா உங்களை அரோசிப்பதில்லை.

நீர் துன்மார்க்கத்தில் பிரியப்படுகிற தேவன் அல்ல, தீமை உம்மிடத்தில் சேர்வதில்லை.

துன்மார்க்கன் தன் உள்ளம் இச்சித்ததைப் பெற்றதினால் பெருமைபாராட்டி, பொருளை அபகரித்துத் தன்னைத்தான் போற்றி, கர்த்தரை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறான்.

தேவன் அதைக் கேட்டு உக்கிரமாகி இஸ்ரவேலை மிகவும் வெறுத்து,

நீங்கள் தேவர்கள் என்றும், நீங்களெல்லாரும் உன்னதமானவரின் மக்கள் என்றும் நான் சொல்லியிருந்தேன்.

துர்ச்சனரோடு மகா தீவினைசெய்யும்போது, என் பிரியமானவளுக்கு என் வீட்டில் என்ன இருக்கிறது? பரிசுத்த மாம்சத்தை உன்னைவிட்டுத் தாண்டிப்போகப்பண்ணுவார்கள்; உன் பொல்லாப்பு நடக்கும்போது நீ களிகூருகிறாயே.

யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும், எருசலேமின் வீதிகளிலும், நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிதாக்களும் உங்கள் ராஜாக்களும், உங்கள் பிரபுக்களும், தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களும் காட்டின தூபங்களை அல்லவோ கர்த்தர் நினைத்துத் தம்முடைய மனதிலே வைத்துக்கொண்டார்.

தோட்டத்தின் வேலியைப்போல இருந்த தம்முடைய வேலியைப் பலவந்தமாய்ப் பிடுங்கிப்போட்டார்; சபைகூடுகிற தம்முடைய ஸ்தலங்களை அழித்தார்; கர்த்தர் சீயோனிலே பண்டிகையையும் ஓய்வுநாளையும் மறக்கப்பண்ணி, தமது உக்கிரமான கோபத்தில் ராஜாவையும் ஆசாரியனையும் புறக்கணித்துவிட்டார்.

பூமியின் எல்லா வம்சங்களுக்குள்ளும் உங்களை மாத்திரம் அறிந்துகொண்டேன்; ஆகையால் உங்களுடைய எல்லா அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தமும் உங்களைத் தண்டிப்பேன்.

ஒரேமாதத்திலே மூன்று மேய்ப்பரையும் அதம்பண்ணினேன்; என் ஆத்துமா அவர்களை அரோசித்தது; அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா என்னையும் வெறுத்தது.

இப்படி நீ குளிருமின்றி அனலுமின்றி வெதுவெதுப்பாயிருக்கிறபடியினால் உன்னை என் வாயினின்று வாந்திபண்ணிப்போடுவேன்.
