அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து பேசுகிற தேவனுடைய சத்தத்தை நீ கேட்டதுபோல யாதொரு ஜனமாவது கேட்டதும் உயிரோடிருந்ததும் உண்டோ.

மோசே எகிப்துதேசத்திலே பார்வோனுக்கும், அவனுடைய எல்லா ஊழியக்காரருக்கும், அவனுடைய தேசமனைத்திற்கும் செய்யும்படி கர்த்தர் அவனை அனுப்பிச் செய்வித்த சகல அடையாளங்களையும் அற்புதங்களையும்,

ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதனோடே பேசுவதுபோல, கர்த்தர் மோசேயோடே முகமுகமாய்ப் பேசினார்; பின்பு, அவன் பாளயத்துக்குத் திரும்பினான்; நூனின் குமாரனாகிய யோசுவா என்னும் அவனுடைய பணிவிடைக்காரனாகிய வாலிபன் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தை விட்டுப் பிரியாதிருந்தான்.

உன்னை உபதேசிக்கும்படிக்கு, அவர் வானத்திலிருந்து தமது சத்தத்தை உனக்குக் கேட்கப்பண்ணி, பூமியிலே தமது பெரிய அக்கினியை உனக்குக் காண்பித்தார்; அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டாய்.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: நான் உன்னோடே பேசும்போது ஜனங்கள் கேட்டு, உன்னை என்றைக்கும் விசுவாசிக்கும்படி, நான் கார்மேகத்தில் உன்னிடத்திற்கு வருவேன் என்றார். ஜனங்கள் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை மோசே கர்த்தருக்குச் சொன்னான்.

கர்த்தர் சீனாய்மலையின்மேல் அக்கினியில் இறங்கினபடியால், அது முழுவதும் புகைக்காடாய் இருந்தது; அந்தப் புகை சூளையின் புகையைப்போல எழும்பிற்று; மலை முழுவதும் மிகவும் அதிர்ந்தது.

ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் இடிமுழக்கங்களையும் மின்னல்களையும் எக்காளச் சத்தத்தையும் மலை புகைகிறதையும் கண்டார்கள்; அதைக் கண்டு, ஜனங்கள் பின்வாங்கி, தூரத்திலே நின்று,

நான் அவனுடன் மறைபொருளாக அல்ல, முகமுகமாகவும் பிரத்தியட்சமாகவும் பேசுகிறேன்; அவன் கர்த்தரின் சாயலைக் காண்கிறான்; இப்படியிருக்க, நீங்கள் என் தாசனாகிய மோசேக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பேச, உங்களுக்குப் பயமில்லாமற்போனதென்ன என்றார்.

கர்த்தராகிய நீர் இந்த ஜனங்களின் நடுவே இருக்கிறதையும், கர்த்தராகிய நீர் முகமுகமாய்த் தரிசனமாகிறதையும், உம்முடைய மேகம் இவர்கள்மேல் நிற்கிறதையும், பகலில் மேகத்தூணிலும், இரவில் அக்கினித்தூணிலும், நீர் இவர்களுக்கு முன் செல்லுகிறதையும் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்கள், இந்த தேசத்தின் குடிகளுக்கும் சொல்லுவார்கள்.

இதோ, நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நமக்குத் தம்முடைய மகிமையையும் தம்முடைய மகத்துவத்தையும் காண்பித்தார்; அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான அவருடைய சத்தத்தையும் கேட்டோம்; தேவன் மனுஷனோடே பேசியும், அவன் உயிரோடிருக்கிறதை இந்நாளிலே கண்டோம்.
