பிரசங்கி 7:14
வாழ்வுகாலத்தில் நன்மையை அநுபவித்திரு, தாழ்வுகாலத்தில் சிந்தனைசெய்; மனுஷன் தனக்குப்பின் வருவதொன்றையும் கண்டுபிடியாதபடிக்கு தேவன் இவ்விரண்டையும் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று எதிரிடையாக வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

வாழ்வுகாலத்தில் நன்மையை அனுபவித்திரு, தாழ்ந்து இருக்கும் காலத்தில் சிந்தனைசெய்; மனிதன் தனக்குப்பின்பு வருவது ஒன்றையும் கண்டுபிடிக்கமுடியாதபடி தேவன் இந்த இரண்டையும் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று எதிராக வைத்திருக்கிறார்.

Tamil Easy Reading Version
வாழ்க்கை நல்லதாக இருந்தால், அனுபவி. வாழ்க்கை கடினமாக இருக்கும்போது தேவன் நமக்கு நல்ல காலத்தையும் கஷ்டகாலத்தையும் கொடுக்கிறார் என்று நினைத்துக்கொள். எதிர்காலத்தில் என்ன நிகழும் என்பது எவருக்கும் தெரியாது.

வாழ்க்கை இன்பமாய் இருக்கும்போது மகிழ்ச்சியோடிரு; துன்பம் வரும்போது நீ நினைவில் கொள்ள வேண்டியது: ‘அடுத்து என்ன நடக்கும் என்பதை நீ தெரிந்துகொள்ளா வண்ணம் கடவுள், இன்பத்தையும் துன்பத்தையும் மாறி மாறி வரவிடுகிறார்’.⒫

In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.

In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yea, God hath made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything `that shall be’ after him.
