யாத்திராகமம் 1:11
அப்படியே அவர்களைச் சுமைசுமக்கிற வேலையினால் ஒடுக்கும்படிக்கு, அவர்கள்மேல் விசாரணைக்காரரை வைத்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் பார்வோனுக்காகப் பித்தோம், ராமசேஸ் என்னும் பண்டசாலைப் பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டினார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களின் வாழ்க்கையைச் சிரமமாக்குவதென எகிப்திய ஜனங்கள் முடிவெடுத்து, அவர்களிடையே மேற் பார்வையாளர்களை எகிப்தியர் நியமித்தார்கள். இந்த மேற்பார்வையாளர்கள் பித்தோம், ராமசேஸ் நகரங்களை அரசனுக்காகக்கட்டும்படியாக இஸ்ரவேலரைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்தினர். தானியங்களையும் பிற பொருட்களையும் சேர்த்து வைப்பதற்காக அரசன் இந்நகரங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தினான்.
