யாத்திராகமம் 1:14
சாந்தும் செங்கலுமாகிய இவைகளைச் செய்யும் வேலையினாலும், வயலில் செய்யும் சகலவித வேலையினாலும், அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஜீவனையும் கசப்பாக்கினார்கள்; அவர்களைக்கொண்டு செய்வித்த மற்ற எல்லா வேலைகளிலும், அவர்களைக் கொடுமையாய் நடத்தினார்கள்.

கலவையும் செங்கலுமாகிய இவைகளைச் செய்யும் வேலையாலும், வயலில் செய்யும் எல்லாவித வேலையாலும், அவர்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையையும் கசப்பாக்கினார்கள்; அவர்களைக்கொண்டு செய்த எல்லா வேலைகளிலும், அவர்களைக் கொடுமையாக நடத்தினார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேலரின் வாழ்க்கையை எகிப்தியர்கள் கடினமாக்கினார்கள். செங்கல்லும், சாந்தும் செய்யும்படியாக இஸ்ரவேலரை அவர்கள் வற்புறுத்தி வேலை வாங்கினார்கள். வயல்களிலும் கடினமாக உழைக்கும்படியாக அவர்களைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்தினர். அவர்கள் செய்த ஒவ்வொரு வேலையிலும் கடினமாக உழைக்குமாறு, கட்டாயப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
