அப்பொழுது பார்வோனும் அவனுடைய சகல ஊழியக்காரரும் எகிப்தியர் யாவரும் இராத்திரியிலே எழுந்திருந்தார்கள்; மகா கூக்குரல் எகிப்திலே உண்டாயிற்று; சாவில்லாத ஒரு வீடும் இருந்ததில்லை.

அந்த இரவில் எகிப்தின் ஒவ்வொரு வீட்டிலும் யாராவது ஒருவர் மரித்தனர். பார்வோனும், அவனது அதிகாரிகளும், எகிப்தின் எல்லா ஜனங்களும் சத்தமிட்டு அழுதனர்.

பார்வோனும், அவனுடைய அனைத்து பணியாளர்களும், எகிப்தியர் அனைவரும் விழித்தெழுந்தனர். எகிப்தில் பெரும் அழுகுரல் கேட்டது. ஏனெனில், சாவு இல்லாத வீடு எதுவுமே இல்லை!
