நீர் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சமுத்திரத்தைப் பிரித்ததினால், கடலின் நடுவாகக் கால்நனையாமல் நடந்தார்கள்; வலுவான தண்ணீர்களிலே கல்லைப்போடுகிறதுபோல, அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்தவர்களை ஆழங்களிலே போட்டுவிட்டீர்.

ஜலம் திரும்பிவந்து, இரதங்களையும் குதிரைவீரரையும் அவர்கள் பின்னாக சமுத்திரத்தில் பிரவேசித்திருந்த பார்வோனுடைய இராணுவம் அனைத்தையும் மூடிக்கொண்டது; அவர்களில் ஒருவனாகிலும் தப்பவில்லை.

உம்முடைய காற்றை வீசப்பண்ணினீர், கடல் அவர்களை மூடிக்கொண்டது; திரளான தண்ணீர்களில் ஈயம்போல அமிழ்ந்துபோனார்கள்.

நீ இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தை வாசித்துத் தீர்ந்தபோது, அதிலே ஒரு கல்லைக்கட்டி, அதை ஐப்பிராத்து நடுவிலே எறிந்துவிட்டு,

நீ சமுத்திரத் திரைகளினாலே ஆழங்களில் உடைக்கப்பட்டபோது, உன் தொழில் துறையும் உன் நடுவிலுள்ள கூட்டம் அனைத்தும் அழிந்துபோயின என்பார்கள்.

என் நெருக்கத்தில் நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்; அவர் எனக்கு உத்தரவு அருளினார்; நான் பாதாளத்தின் வயிற்றிலிருந்து கூக்குரலிட்டேன், நீர் என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டீர்.

அவர் திரும்ப நம்மேல் இரங்குவார்; நம்முடைய அக்கிரமங்களை அடக்கி நம்முடைய பாவங்களையெல்லாம் சமுத்தித்தின் ஆழங்களில் போட்டுவிடுவார்.

என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிற இந்தச் சிறியரில் ஒருவனுக்கு இடறலுண்டாக்குகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய கழுத்தில் ஏந்திரக்கல்லைக் கட்டி, சமுத்திரத்தின் ஆழத்திலே அவனை அமிழ்த்துவது அவனுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.

அப்பொழுது, பலமுள்ள தூதனொருவன் பெரிய ஏந்திரக்கல்லையொத்த ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்துச் சமுத்திரத்திலே எறிந்து: இப்படியே பாபிலோன் மகாநகரம் வேகமாய்த் தள்ளுண்டு, இனி ஒருபோதும் காணப்படாமற்போகும்.
