திருடன் கன்னமிடுகையில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டு, அடிக்கப்பட்டுச் செத்தால், அவன் நிமித்தம் இரத்தப்பழி சுமராது.

அவனுக்கு கொடுக்க எதுவும் சொந்தமில்லையென்றால், அவன் அடிமையாக விற்கப்பட வேண்டும். ஆனால் அந்த மனிதன் தான் திருடிய மிருகத்தை வைத்திருந்தானாகில், தான் திருடிய ஒவ்வொரு மிருகத்திற்காகவும் இரண்டு மிருகங்களைக் கொடுக்க வேண்டும். அது மாடா, கழுதையா, அல்லது ஆடா என்பது ஒரு பொருட்டல்ல. “இரவில் திருடும்படி ஒருவன் ஒரு வீட்டுக்குள் நுழைய முயற்சி செய்யும்போது திருடன் கொல்லப்பட்டால், அவன் கொலைக்கு யாரும் பொறுப்பாளி அல்ல. ஆனால் அது பகலில் நடந்தால், அவனைக் கொன்றவன் கொலைக் குற்றவாளியாவான்.
