நீங்கள் ஆறுநாள் வேலைசெய்ய வேண்டும், ஏழாம்நாளோ உங்களுக்குப் பரிசுத்த நாளாய் இருப்பதாக; அது கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஓய்ந்திருக்கும் ஓய்வுநாள்; அதிலே வேலைசெய்கிறவன் எவனும் கொலைசெய்யப்படக்கடவன்.

“ஆறு நாட்கள் நீங்கள் வேலை செய்யலாம். ஏழாவது நாள் நீங்கள் ஓய்வெடுப்பதற்குரிய மிக விசேஷ நாளாகும். அந்த நாளில் ஓய்வெடுப்பதன் மூலம் கர்த்தரை மகிமைப்படுத்துவீர்கள். ஏழாவது நாளில் வேலை செய்கிற எவனும் கொல்லப்பட வேண்டும்.

ஆறு நாள்கள் நீங்கள் வேலை செய்யலாம். ஏழாம் நாளோ, ஆண்டவருக்காக நீங்கள் ஓய்ந்திருக்க வேண்டிய புனிதமான ‘சாபாத்து’; அன்று வேலை செய்பவன் எவனும் கொல்லப்பட வேண்டும்.
