அப்பொழுது மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இதற்கு முன்னாவது, தேவரீர் உமது அடியானோடே பேசினதற்குப் பின்னாவது நான் வாக்குவல்லவன் அல்ல; நான் திக்குவாயும் மந்த நாவும் உள்ளவன் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, இதற்கு முன்பாவது, தேவரீர் உமது அடியேனோடு பேசினதற்குப் பின்பாவது நான் பேச்சில் வல்லவன் இல்லை; நான் திக்குவாயும் மந்த நாவும் உள்ளவன் என்றான்.

ஆனால் மோசே கர்த்தரை நோக்கி, “கர்த்தாவே, நான் உமக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன் நான் தேர்ந்த பேச்சாளன் அல்ல. நான் சிறப்பாக எப்போதும் பேசியதில்லை. இப்போது உம்மிடம் பேசிய பிறகும்கூட, நான் சிறந்த பேச்சாளனாக மாறவில்லை. நான் நிதானமாகப் பேசுகிறேன் என்பதும், சிறந்த வார்த்தைகளைப் பயன்படுத்தாததிக்குவாய் உடையவன் என்பதும் உமக்கு தெரியும்” என்று கூறினான்.

திருவிவிலியம்
மோசே ஆண்டவரிடம்: “ஐயோ! ஆண்டவரே! நீர் உமது அடியானிடம் பேசுவதற்கும் முன்போ, பேசிய பின்போ, நாவன்மை அற்றவன் நான்! ஏனெனில், எனக்கு வாய் திக்கும்; நாவும் குழறும்” என்றார்.
