அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: எபிரெயருடைய தேவன் எங்களைச் சந்தித்தார்; நாங்கள் வனாந்தரத்தில் மூன்றுநாள் பிரயாணம் போய், எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடும்படி போகவிடவேண்டும்; போகாதிருந்தால், அவர் கொள்ளை நோயும் பட்டயமும் எங்கள் மேல் வரப்பண்ணுவார் என்றார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: எபிரெயர்களுடைய தேவன் எங்களைச் சந்தித்தார்; நாங்கள் வனாந்திரத்தில் மூன்றுநாட்கள் பயணமாக போய், எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பலியிடும்படி போகவிடவேண்டும்; போகாமலிருந்தால், அவர் கொள்ளைநோயையும், பட்டயத்தையும் எங்கள்மேல் வரச்செய்வார் என்றார்கள்.

அப்போது ஆரோனும் மோசேயும், “எபிரெய ஜனங்களின் தேவன் எங்களுடன் பேசினார். பாலைவனத்தில் மூன்று நாட்கள் பயணம் செல்வதற்கு எங்களை அனுமதிக்குமாறு நாங்கள் உன்னை வேண்டுகிறோம். அங்கு எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குப் பலி செலுத்துவோம். இதை நாங்கள் செய்யவில்லையென்றால், அவர் கோபங்கொண்டு நோய் அல்லது யுத்தத்தினால் நாங்கள் அழியும்படியாகச் செய்வார்” என்றனர்.

அதற்கு அவர்கள், “எபிரேயரின் கடவுள் எங்களைச் சந்தித்தார். பாலை நிலத்தில் மூன்றுநாள் வழிப்பயணம் செய்து எங்கள் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவருக்குப் பலியிடுமாறு எங்களை நீர் போகவிடும். இல்லையெனில், கொள்ளை நோயாலோ வாளாலோ அவர் எங்களைத் தாக்கிவிடுவார்” என்று கூறினர்.
