தேசத்திலுள்ள ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்திலுள்ள எருசலேமின் குடிகளைக்குறித்துக் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், தங்கள் அப்பத்தை விசாரத்தோடே புசித்து, தங்கள் தண்ணீரைத் திகிலோடே குடிப்பார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய தேசத்துக் குடிகளுடைய கொடுமைகளினிமித்தம் அதிலுள்ளதெல்லாம் அழிய, அது பாழாகும்.

தேசத்திலுள்ள மக்ககளை நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேல் தேசத்திலுள்ள எருசலேமின் மக்களைக் குறித்துக் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், தங்களுடைய அப்பத்தை வருத்தத்துடன் சாப்பிட்டு, தங்களுடைய தண்ணீரைப் பயத்துடன் குடிப்பார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய தேசத்துக் மக்களுடைய கொடுமையினால் அதிலுள்ளதெல்லாம் அழிய, அது பாழாகும்.

நீ இதனைப் பொது ஜனங்களுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும். நீ, இவ்வாறு சொல்லவேண்டும். எருசலேமிலும் இஸ்ரவேலின் மற்றப் பகுதிகளிலும் வாழ்கிற ஜனங்களுக்கு, ‘நமது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் இவற்றைக் கூறுகிறார். உங்கள் உணவை நீங்கள் உண்ணும்போது ஜனங்களாகிய நீங்கள் மிகவும் கவலைப்படுவீர்கள், நீங்கள் உங்கள் தண்ணீரைக் குடிக்கும்போது திகிலடைவீர்கள். ஏனென்றால், உங்கள் நாட்டிலுள்ள அனைத்துப் பொருட்களும் அழிக்கப்படும்! அங்கே வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் ஜனங்களிடம் பகைவர்கள் கொடூரமாக நடந்துகொள்வார்கள்.
