இதோ, கெர்வமும், ஆகாரத் திரட்சியும், நிர்விசாரமான சாங்கோபாங்கமுமாகிய இவைகளே உன் சகோதரியான சோதோமின் அக்கிரமம்; இவைகளே அவளிடத்திலும் அவள் குமாரத்திகளிடத்திலும் இருந்தன; சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவனுடைய கையை அவள் பலப்படுத்தவில்லை.

இதோ, கர்வமும், உணவுப்பெருக்கும், அலட்சியமான அக்கறை செலுத்தாதவைகளாகிய இவைகளே உன்னுடைய சகோதரியான சோதோமின் அக்கிரமம்; இவைகளே அவளிடத்திலும் அவளுடைய மகள்களிடத்திலும் இருந்தன; சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவனுடைய கையை அவள் பலப்படுத்தவில்லை.

தேவன் சொன்னார்: “உனது சகோதரி சோதோமும் அவளது மகள்களும் தற்பெருமை கொண்டவர்கள். அவர்கள் அதிகமாக உண்டார்கள். அதிகமான நேரத்தை வீணாக செலவழித்தனர். அவர்கள் ஏழைகளுக்கும் ஆதரவற்றவர்களுக்கும் உதவவில்லை.

உன் தங்கை சோதோமின் குற்றங்கள் இவையே: இறுமாப்பு, உணவார்வம், சோம்பல், இத்தனையும் அவளிடமும் அவள் புதல்வியரிடமும் இருந்தன. ஏழை, எளியோரின் கைகளை அவள் வலுப்படுத்தவில்லை.
