தன்னை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்திய ராஜாவினுடைய ஆணையை அசட்டைபண்ணி, அவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை முறித்துப்போட்டவன், அந்த ராஜாவினுடைய ஸ்தானமாகிய பாபிலோன் நடுவிலே அவன் அண்டையில் இருந்து மரணமடைவானென்று என் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் கூறுகிறார்: “என் உயிரின்மேல் உறுதியாகச் சொல்கிறேன்! புதிய அரசன் பாபிலோனில் மரிப்பான். நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் இப்புதியவனை யூதாவின் அரசனாக ஆக்கினான். ஆனால் இவன் தான் நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரோடுச் செய்த வாக்குறுதியை உடைத்தான். இப்புதிய அரசன் ஒப்பந்தத்தை அசட்டை செய்தான்.
