அவளுடைய கண்கள் அவர்களைப் பார்த்தவுடனே, அவள் அவர்கள்மேல் மோகித்து, கல்தேயாவுக்கு அவர்களண்டையிலே ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பினாள்.

இணை வசனம்

நீ கானான் தேசத்திலே செய்த வேசித்தனத்தை கல்தேயர்மட்டும் எட்டச் செய்தாய்; அதினாலும் நீ திருப்தியடையாமற்போனாய்.

நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை இச்சையோடு பார்க்கிற எவனும் தன் இருதயத்தில் அவளோடே விபசாரஞ்செய்தாயிற்று.

அப்பொழுது ஸ்திரீயானவள் அந்த விருட்சம் புசிப்புக்கு நல்லதும், பார்வைக்கு இன்பமும், புத்தியைத்தெளிவிக்கிறதற்கு இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்க விருட்சமுமாய் இருக்கிறது என்று கண்டு, அதின் கனியைப் பறித்து, புசித்து, தன் புருஷனுக்கும் கொடுத்தாள்; அவனும் புசித்தான்.

தேவகுமாரர் மனுஷகுமாரத்திகளை அதிக செளந்தரியமுள்ளவர்களென்று கண்டு, அவர்களுக்குள்ளே தங்களுக்குப் பெண்களைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

சிலநாள் சென்றபின், அவனுடைய எஜமானனின் மனைவி யோசேப்பின்மேல் கண்போட்டு, என்னோடே சயனி என்றாள்.

ஒருநாள் சாயங்காலத்தில் தாவீது தன் படுக்கையிலிருந்து எழுந்து, அரமனை உப்பரிகையின்மேல் உலாத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, ஸ்நானம்பண்ணுகிற ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை உப்பரிகையின்மேலிருந்து கண்டான்; அந்த ஸ்திரீ வெகு செளந்தரவதியாயிருந்தாள்.

அவன் நாட்களிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் வந்தான்; யோயாக்கீம் மூன்று வருஷம் அவனைச் சேவித்து, பின்பு அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்பண்ணினான்.

என் கண்களோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணின நான் ஒரு கன்னிகையின்மேல் நினைப்பாயிருப்பதெப்படி?

மாயையைப் பாராதபடி நீர் என் கண்களை விலக்கி, உமது வழிகளில் என்னை உயிர்ப்பியும்.

உன் இருதயத்திலே அவள் அழகை இச்சியாதே; அவள் தன் கண்ணிமைகளினால் உன்னைப் பிடிக்கவிடாதே.

உன் கண்கள் பரஸ்திரீகளை நோக்கும்; உன் உள்ளம் தாறுமாறானவைகளைப் பேசும்.

நான் உனக்குக் கொடுத்த என் பொன்னும் என் வெள்ளியுமான உன் சிங்கார ஆபரணங்களை நீ எடுத்து, உனக்கு ஆண்சுரூபங்களை உண்டாக்கி, அவைகளோடே வேசித்தனம்பண்ணி,

இதுவுமல்லாமல், தூரத்திலுள்ள புருஷரிடத்திற்குத் தூது அனுப்பி, அவர்களை வரவழைத்தார்கள், அவர்கள் வந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கென்று நீ குளித்து, உன் கண்களில் மையிட்டுக்கொண்டு, ஆபரணங்களால் உன்னை அலங்கரித்து,

விபசார மயக்கத்தால் நிறைந்தவைகளும், பாவத்தைவிட்டோயாதவைகளுமாயிருக்கிற கண்களையுடையவர்கள்; உறுதியில்லாத ஆத்துமாக்களைத் தந்திரமாய்ப் பிடித்து, பொருளாசைகளில் பழகின இருதயத்தையுடைய சாபத்தின் பிள்ளைகள்.
