சமுத்திரக் கரைதுறையிலே குடியிருந்து அநேகம் தீவுகளின் ஜனங்களோடே வியாபாரம்பண்ணுகிற தீருவை நோக்கி: கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், தீருவே, நீ உன்னைப் பூரணசொந்தரியவதி என்கிறாய்.

கடற்கரை ஓரத்திலே குடியிருந்து, அநேகம் தீவுகளின் மக்களுடன் வியாபாரம்செய்கிற தீருவை நோக்கி: கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், தீருவே, நீ உன்னைப் பூரண அழகுள்ளவள் என்கிறாய்.

தீருவைப் பற்றி இவற்றைக் கூறு: ‘தீரு, நீ கடல்களுக்குக் கதவாக இருக்கிறாய், பல நாடுகளுக்கு நீ வியாபாரி. கடற்கரையோரமாக உள்ள பல நாடுகளுக்குப் பயணம் செய்கிறாய். எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் இவற்றைக் கூறுகிறார்: “‘தீருவே, நீ மிக அழகானவள் என்று எண்ணுகிறாய். நீ முழுமையான அழகுடையவள் என்று எண்ணுகிறாய்!

கடற்கரைத் துறையில் இருந்து கொண்டு பல்வேறு கடற்கரை மக்களுடன் வாணிபம் செய்கின்ற தீர் நகருக்குச் சொல்; ⁽தீர் நகரே! ‘நான் அழகில் சிறந்தவள்’ என␢ நீ சொல்லிக்கொள்கின்றாய்.⁾

And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.

and say unto Tyre, O thou that dwellest at the entry of the sea, that art the merchant of the peoples unto many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, O Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.
