விதவையையும் தள்ளிவிடப்பட்டவளையும் அவர்கள் விவாகம்பண்ணாமல், இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாளாகிய கன்னிகையையாகிலும் ஒரு ஆசாரியனின் மனைவியாயிருந்த விதவையையாகிலும் விவாகம்பண்ணலாம்.

விதவையையும் தள்ளிவிடப்பட்டவளையும் அவர்கள் திருமணம்செய்யாமல், இஸ்ரவேல் வீட்டாளாகிய கன்னிகையையோ, ஒரு ஆசாரியரின் மனைவியாக இருந்த விதவையையோ திருமணம்செய்யலாம்.

ஆசாரியர்கள் ஒரு விதவையையோ, விவாகரத்து பெற்றவளையோ மணக்கக் கூடாது. அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்திலுள்ள கன்னிப் பெண்களையோ அல்லது மரித்துப்போன ஆசாரியனின் விதவையையோ மாத்திரம் மணந்துக்கொள்ளலாம்.

எந்தக் குருவும் கைம்பெண்ணையோ மணமுறிவு பெற்ற மங்கையையோ மணமுடித்தலாகாது. ஆனால் இஸ்ரயேல் இனத்துக் கன்னிப்பெண்ணையோ குருவின் கைம்பெண்ணையோ மட்டுமே மணமுடிக்கலாம்.

Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.
