அவன் தன் ஊழியக்காரரில் ஒருவனுக்குத் தன் சுதந்தரத்தில் ஒரு பங்கைக் கொடுத்தானேயாகில், அது விடுதலையின் வருஷமட்டும் அவனுடையதாயிருந்து, பின்பு திரும்ப அதிபதியின் வசமாய்ச் சேரும்; அதின் சுதந்தரம் அவன் குமாரருக்கே உரியது, அது அவர்களுடையதாயிருக்கும்.

அவன் தன்னுடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களில் ஒருவனுக்குத் தன்னுடைய சொத்தில் ஒரு பங்கைக் கொடுத்திருந்தால், அது விடுதலையின் வருடம்வரை அவனுடையதாக இருந்து, பின்பு திரும்ப அதிபதியினிடம் சேரும்; அதின் சொத்து அவனுடைய மகன்களுக்கே உரியது, அது அவர்களுடையதாக இருக்கும்.

ஆனால் அவன் தன் அடிமைகளில் ஒருவனுக்குத் தன் நிலத்தில் ஒரு பங்கைக் கொடுத்தால் அது விடுதலையடையும் ஆண்டுவரை (யூபிலிவரை) அவனுடையதாக இருக்கும். பிறகு, அது திரும்பவும் அதிபதியின் உடமையாகும். அதிபதி மகன்களுக்கு மட்டுமே அது உரியதாகும். அது அவர்களுடையதாக இருக்கும்.

ஆனால், தலைவன் தன் உரிமைச் சொத்துக்களிலிருந்து ஒரு பகுதியைத் தன் ஊழியரில் ஒருவனுக்குக் கொடையாக அளித்தால், அது “விடுதலை ஆண்டு” வரை அவ்வூழியனுக்குச் சொந்தமாகும். பின்னர் அது தலைவனுக்குச் சேரும். அவனுடைய உரிமைச் சொத்து அவன் புதல்வரையே சாரும்.

But if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his inheritance shall be his sons’ for them.

But if he give of his inheritance a gift to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of liberty; then it shall return to the prince; but as for his inheritance, it shall be for his sons.
