அவர்கள் வெட்டிக்கொண்டுபோகையில் நான்மாத்திரம் தனித்து, முகங்குபுற விழுந்து: ஆ, கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, தேவரீர் எருசலேமின்மேல் உமது உக்கிரத்தை ஊற்றுகையில் இஸ்ரவேலின் மீதியானவர்களையெல்லாம் அழிப்பீரோ என்று முறையிட்டேன்.

அவர்கள் வெட்டிக்கொண்டுபோகும்போது நான் மட்டும் தனித்து, முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து: ஆ, கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, தேவரீர் எருசலேமின்மேல் உமது கடுங்கோபத்தை ஊற்றும்போது இஸ்ரவேலின் மீதியானவர்களையெல்லாம் அழிப்பீரோ என்று முறையிட்டேன்.

அம்மனிதர்கள் போய் ஜனங்களைக் கொல்லும்போது நான் அங்கே தங்கினேன். நான் என் முகம் தரையில் படும்படிக் குனிந்து வணங்கிச் சொன்னேன். “எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, எருசலேமின் மீது தனது கோபத்தைக் காட்டுகிறவரே, இஸ்ரவேலில் தப்பிப் பிழைத்த அனைவரையும் கொல்லப் போகிறீரா?”

அவர்கள் வெட்டி வீழ்த்திக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது, நான்மட்டும் தனியே இருந்தேன். நானோ முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, “ஆ! தலைவராகிய ஆண்டவரே! நீர் உம் சீற்றத்தை எருசலேமின் மீது கொட்டி இஸ்ரயேலில் எஞ்சி இருப்போர் அனைவரையும் அழித்து விடுவீரோ?” என்று கத்தினேன்.

And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
