அவர்கள் செருபாபேலிடத்துக்கும் தலைவரான பிதாக்களிடத்துக்கும் வந்து; உங்களோடேகூட நாங்களும் கட்டுவோம்; உங்களைப்போல நாங்களும் உங்கள் தேவனை நாடுவோம்; இவ்விடத்துக்கு எங்களை வரப்பண்ணின அசீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசரத்தோன் நாட்கள் முதற்கொண்டு அவருக்கு நாங்களும் பலியிட்டுவருகிறோமென்று அவர்களோடே சொன்னார்கள்.

அவர்கள் செருபாபேலிடத்திற்கும் தலைவர்களான பிதாக்களிடத்திற்கும் வந்து: உங்களுடன் நாங்களும் கட்டுவோம்; உங்களைப்போல நாங்களும் உங்கள் தேவனை நாடுவோம்; இந்த இடத்திற்கு எங்களை வரச் செய்த அசீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசரத்தோன் நாட்கள் முதற்கொண்டு அவருக்கு நாங்களும் பலியிட்டுவருகிறோம் என்று அவர்களிடம் சொன்னார்கள்.

அவர்கள் செருபாபேலையும் குலத்தலைவர்களையும் அணுகி, “நாங்களும் உங்களோடு சேர்ந்து கட்டுகின்றோம். ஏனெனில் உங்கள் கடவுளையே நாங்களும் உங்களைப்போல் வழிபடுகின்றோம். அசீரிய மன்னன் ஏசர்கத்தோன் எங்களை இங்கு கொண்டுவந்த நாளிலிருந்து அவருக்கே பலி செலுத்தி வருகின்றோம்.”

Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.
